Position Summary
The Marketing Intern supports the Creative Specialist by executing low-risk, repeatable tasks that maintain brand standards while maximizing team efficiency. This role is ideal for students or early-career professionals seeking hands-on experience in digital marketing, content creation, video production, and communications. The intern will assist with social media, website updates, newsletter preparation, podcast coordination, photography, and videography.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Draft basic social media posts using provided copy or themes.
Schedule content using approved platforms
Monitor and flag messages or comments for follow-up.
Organize user-generated content and photos for future use.
Upload and update events on the DTSF website using supplied information.
Check links and ensure formatting consistency.
Assist with general content uploads (e.g., images, bios, text).
Newsletter Preparation
Pull content and imagery for draft newsletters.
Proofread for formatting issues, broken links, or typos.
Podcast Coordination
Schedule podcast guests and manage follow-up communications.
Assist with prepping audio files and transcripts.
Track production milestones and upload final content.
Capture photos and video content of events, the businesses, and the district.
Qualifications
Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Marketing, Communications, or related program.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Familiarity with social media platforms and scheduling tools.
Basic understanding of content management systems and email marketing platforms.
Excellent written communication and proofreading skills.
Ability to work independently and take initiative.
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
Occasional lifting of materials up to 25 pounds.
Ability to work in both office and event environments.
